Lectures
The Center hosts two named lectures, the John R. Raben/Sullivan & Cromwell Fellow Lecture and the Judge Ralph Winter Lectureship on Corporate Law and Governance. The Center also hosts a number of other lectures throughout the year, focusing on questions and research regarding contemporary business law and featuring faculty members from the Law School and other universities, as well as public officials and members of the bar, business, and investment communities.
John R. Raben/Sullivan & Cromwell Fellow Lecture
The John R. Raben/Sullivan & Cromwell Fellowship Fund brings to the Law School a leading expert in securities law or the accounting for business enterprises, who delivers a public lecture at the School. Held since 2000, fellows have spoken on securities regulation and corporate governance, as well as topics as diverse as ESG investing, the inflationary aftermath of COVID-19, machine learning and big data, financial regulation in response to crisis, behavioral economics, and parallels between evolutionary biology and business strategy.

Judge Ralph Winter Lectureship on Corporate Law and Governance
The Judge Ralph Winter Lectureship on Corporate Law and Governance was established by former law clerks and students of the Hon. Ralph K. Winter ‘60 to support lectures on corporate law and governance and related topics. Held since 2005, speakers have covered, among other things, various aspects of financial regulation (including how it may aid international economic resilience in an era of fractured geopolitics), inflation risks for the U.S. and the global economy, debt crises, pension policy, and the need for a greater understanding of probability within the legal system.
